I come from a generation that didn't grow up with smartphones, search engines, or the kind of instant access to information we have today. When I wanted to understand something, books were usually where I looked for answers. That was especially true with spirituality, something I have been interested in for much of my life.
I remember reading a book about the Law of Attraction and realizing that there was still so much about the universe I had never considered. I had already spent time reading about the twelve zodiac signs, the Sun, the Moon, and the belief that their positions can reflect different parts of our personality. But manifestation introduced me to something different.
It made me think about something we cannot see in the same way we see the Moon or stars: energy. The idea that stayed with me was that the universe around us carries positive energy, and perhaps we are not completely separate from it. Our thoughts, desires, intentions, and actions may create their own kind of energy within us, allowing us to move in the direction of what we deeply want.
As I began learning more about manifestation, I also began looking back at my own life. I thought about things I had wanted, opportunities that seemed to appear at just the right moment, and dreams that had remained somewhere in my mind for years. One of those dreams was simply to write about what I had learned and experienced through my interest in spirituality. Today, I am doing exactly that.

What Is Manifestation, Really?
Manifestation is commonly understood as focusing your thoughts and intentions on something you want to bring into your life. From a spiritual perspective, the idea goes deeper. Our thoughts and intentions create energy, and that positive inner energy may connect with the positive energy that surrounds us in the universe.
I don't personally understand this as making a wish and expecting the universe to deliver it. For me, manifestation begins inside us. A thought becomes a desire, and the desire stays with us. The more meaningful it becomes, the stronger our intention becomes. That intention can create positive energy that changes the way we think and act. Sometimes, when an opportunity appears, we recognize it immediately because our mind has already been waiting for it.
There is one small experience from my childhood that always comes back to me when I think about this.
A Toy Car I Wanted as a Child
When I was young, one of my friends received a beautiful toy car from his father for his birthday. I wanted one too.
My parents couldn't easily afford expensive toys like that, and even as a child I understood that asking for one didn't mean I would get it. Still, I couldn't stop thinking about that car. I remember imagining different possibilities. Maybe if I behaved well, my parents would reward me. Maybe if I did something good, they would decide to buy one for me.
Nothing happened, but the wish didn't disappear. It simply stayed somewhere in my mind.
Then one day, one of my mother's relatives came from town to visit our family. I greeted him politely, and he seemed happy with me. At some point, he asked what I would like him to give me as a gift.
I didn't have to think. I wanted a toy car.
The answer came immediately because I had already been carrying that wish in my mind. And that was how I finally got the toy car I wanted.
At the time, I knew nothing about manifestation. To me, it was simply an exciting moment in childhood. But many years later, when I began reading about manifestation, I thought about that little car again.
I had held a desire in my mind, and then life unexpectedly placed an opportunity in front of me. Because I already knew exactly what I wanted, I recognized that opportunity immediately. Perhaps it was simply coincidence. But spiritually, I find another possibility interesting: a strong desire had already created positive energy within me, and when an opportunity appeared in the world around me, the two met.
That is very close to what manifestation means to me today.

Can Our Thoughts Affect What Happens in Our Lives?
I believe they can, and I think most of us have experienced this without ever calling it manifestation.
When something occupies our thoughts strongly enough, we begin looking at the world through that thought. When something related to it appears, we notice it more quickly. Our thoughts also influence our decisions. If I strongly want something and believe there is a possibility of reaching it, I am more likely to move toward it. I may become more patient, more determined, or more willing to act when an opportunity appears.
This is why I think positive energy begins within us. A positive thought alone may not change the outside world, but it can change the person carrying that thought. It can give us direction and strengthen our intention.
From a spiritual perspective, manifestation suggests something more: that this positive energy within us may also align with the positive energy of the universe. I cannot tell you exactly where one ends and the other begins. Maybe the energy starts within us and changes how we interact with the world. Maybe there is also an energy beyond us that we don't fully understand.
For me, that mystery is part of manifestation rather than something I need to explain away. The universe has always been much larger than what I can understand.
I have also wondered whether the sounds around us can influence our state of mind and help us focus on our intentions. This question led me to explore the connection between music, inner peace, and spiritual energy, which I discuss in my article The Last Wish: Can Sound Help Us Connect With Our Inner Energy and Manifestation?.
Where Does Spirituality Enter Manifestation?

When I think about manifestation spiritually, I often find myself thinking about prayer. Jesus repeatedly encouraged his disciples to pray.
I don't believe prayer and manifestation are exactly the same. Prayer belongs to faith and our relationship with God, while manifestation is more often discussed through intention, thought, energy, and our connection with the universe. But there is a similarity that interests me.
When we pray regularly for something meaningful in our lives, that desire remains present within us. We return to it in our thoughts, continue hoping for it, and often begin acting in ways that move us toward it. Manifestation can work in a similar way.
When a desire is realistic and deeply connected to our lives, repeatedly focusing on it can build a strong intention inside us. That intention becomes a source of positive energy, and I believe positive energy matters.
We live as part of a much larger universe. We see its physical influence everywhere—the Sun gives us light and warmth, the Moon moves the tides, seasons change, and our lives follow rhythms much larger than ourselves. Spirituality asks us to consider whether there are other connections that are less visible.
Manifestation is one of those ideas. Perhaps the positive energy we create through hope, intention, and determination can connect with the positive energy surrounding us. I don't claim to know exactly how that connection works, but I don't dismiss the possibility either.
That is one of the reasons I continue exploring spirituality. There are things we can explain clearly, and there are other things that leave us with questions. Sometimes those questions are what keep us searching.
Positive Energy Doesn't Mean Every Wish Comes True
There is an important boundary in how I understand manifestation. Not every thought can become reality simply because we think about it strongly enough.
Our wishes still exist within the circumstances of our lives. Some things depend on our abilities, while others depend on time, money, other people, or circumstances completely outside our control. There is a difference between carrying a meaningful intention and becoming lost in an unrealistic expectation.
For me, manifestation should remain connected to real life. Positive energy can give us strength, direction, and determination. It can help us continue moving when something is difficult, but it doesn't remove reality.
And this leads to what I believe is one of the most important parts of manifestation.
Does Manifestation Require Action?
Yes.
I don't believe we can sit in one place, think about something every day, and expect the universe to complete everything for us. If I only think about something but never do anything when an opportunity appears, then I am simply wishing.
The positive energy created by our thoughts and intentions should lead somewhere. It can make us more determined, strengthen our will, and help us continue even after disappointment. Perhaps most importantly, it can help us recognize the moment when an opportunity finally appears.
My childhood toy car is a very simple example. I had wanted that car for some time, and then suddenly someone stood in front of me and asked what gift I wanted. But I still had to answer. I had to say that I wanted a toy car. If I had remained silent, nothing would have happened.
The action was tiny, but it mattered.
Adult life is obviously far more complicated. Our dreams may require months or years of effort, but I think the same basic idea remains:
Thought → Desire → Intention → Positive Energy → Action → Opportunity
For me, this is where manifestation becomes something more meaningful than simply wishing. If you'd like to explore how this idea can become part of everyday life, read my How to Manifest Something: A Beginner’s Guide, where I share a personal story about determination, intention, and recognizing opportunities.

Manifestation and the Positive Energy of the Universe
The part of manifestation that continues to fascinate me most is the possibility that the positive energy we create within ourselves doesn't exist entirely alone.
The universe is around us every moment of our lives, and we are part of it. So I find it difficult to think of ourselves as completely disconnected from everything around us.
When our thoughts are filled with a meaningful desire, that desire creates intention. Intention affects our emotions and actions. We begin giving something back to the world through the way we live, speak, decide, and respond. Perhaps that is one way our personal energy meets the energy around us.
Some people call it alignment. Some call it the Law of Attraction. Some simply call it manifestation.
I sometimes wonder whether this kind of connection also plays a part in how two people find each other. It's something I explore through my own experience in How to Manifest Love: My Story of Fate, Energy, and Attraction.
I am still learning what I believe about all of it. But I have come to believe that manifestation is not about asking the universe to do the work for us. It is about creating positive energy within ourselves, allowing that energy to guide our actions, and remaining open to the opportunities life places in front of us.
What Manifestation Means to Me Today
When I first began reading about manifestation, I thought I was learning another spiritual idea about the universe. Instead, it made me look back at my own life.
I remembered a little boy who desperately wanted a toy car and how that wish stayed in his mind until, one day, an unexpected opportunity appeared. I also thought about myself today.
For years, spirituality was something I explored privately through books, personal experiences, questions, and curiosity. Somewhere along the way, I carried another wish: perhaps one day I could write about those experiences and share what I had learned.
That thought stayed with me too. Now I am here, writing these words.
Was positive energy from the universe helping guide those moments? I can't give a definite answer. But I believe the positive energy we create within ourselves has power. It can shape our intentions, strengthen our actions, and prepare us to recognize opportunities when they come.
And perhaps there is also a larger positive energy around us that sometimes meets our own in ways we don't completely understand.
For me, that is where manifestation becomes spiritual. It begins with a thought inside us, but it doesn't have to end there.
